Due to Engineers week activities, the library will be hosting schools between 9:45 and 12:15 each weekday from March 3rd to March 13th. Visitors are still welcome during these times but bookings are closed.

Make your own volvelle

Our Liked and Shared exhibition displays one of Peter Apian’s ground breaking volvelles, also known as Apian wheels.  These were paper instruments that could be cut out, constructed and used for measuring and calculating time and distance in astronomy.
