Heritage Week Children’s Bookmaking Activity
Saturday 23 August
Morning session: 10am – 11:30am
Afternoon session: 1:30pm – 3pm
Families are welcome to bring their children (7yrs+) to make a fold-out book with covered boards and a lace tie. Along the way they can learn a brief history of book bindings from the early leather bound books to the use of cloth and paperbacked books.
We can accommodate 4 children at a time and the book will take approximately 15/20 minutes to complete. We will welcome participants on a first come, first served basis. Booking is not required.
Come along between the given times for the morning or afternoon session. Parents are welcome to attend and assist the children.
The children and their families are then welcome to go upstairs after their bookmaking and hunt for our minifigures.
NB: We can accommodate wheelchair users for this workshop, we will need advance notice, so please contact us before the day.
