Maths Week 2026 – Tessellations

We are repeating the theme of tessellations for Maths Week this year.  This activity covers many aspects of the Maths curriculum using regular 2D shapes to create a repeating irregular tile.  The students can work at their own ability level, so it is perfect for Junior classes upwards.

Design Brief: Create a wallpaper or wrapping paper design using a irregular tessellating shape.

We will run hour-long sessions, as follows:

Wednesday 14th October:  9.45am-10.45am  and  11.30am-12.30pm

Thursday 15th October:  9.45am-10.45am  and  11.30am-12.30pm

Friday 16th October:  9.45am-10.45am  and  11.30am-12.30pm
